BarterSystem.ca is built to help people across Canada exchange goods and services in a respectful, practical, and trustworthy environment. By using the platform, you agree to follow these community guidelines.
Be Honest
Create accurate listings and communicate truthfully. Do not misrepresent items, services, availability, trade value, condition, or your intentions.
Be Respectful
Treat other members with courtesy and professionalism. Harassment, threats, abusive language, discrimination, and intimidation are not allowed.
Keep Listings Clear and Accurate
Use the correct categories, provide honest descriptions, and upload appropriate images. Listings should clearly explain what is being offered and what is being requested in return.
Respect Safety and the Law
Do not post or trade anything illegal, dangerous, prohibited, or restricted under applicable laws. This includes unlawful goods, unsafe services, fraudulent offers, and any listing that violates local, provincial, or federal regulations.
Consumables Must Meet Legal and Safety Standards
If consumables are allowed on the platform, users must provide all required details related to ingredients, allergens, freshness, storage, and other applicable safety information. Members are solely responsible for ensuring compliance with all legal and health requirements.
No Spam or Misuse
Do not post repetitive listings, misleading promotions, fake trade offers, or irrelevant content. Do not use the platform to scam, manipulate, or trick other users.
Use Structured Trade Requests Properly
Trade requests should be genuine and relevant. Do not use the messaging or trade system to harass users, send spam, or pressure others into unwanted exchanges.
Respect Member Privacy
Do not post private or personal information about other users without permission. Keep communications focused on legitimate barter activity.
Report Problems Responsibly
If you see a suspicious listing, inappropriate behavior, or a possible scam, use the platform’s reporting tools. False or abusive reporting may itself be considered misconduct.
Understand That Moderation May Occur
Listings, accounts, and trade activity may be reviewed or restricted if they appear to violate platform rules. Repeated violations may result in warnings, content removal, suspension, or permanent loss of access.
